The department of Hindi of Kokrajhar Govt. College came into existence in the year 1996. Initially, the department was offering Modern Indian Language (MIL) from 28.09.1996. Later on, the department tried to inculcate its arena of Pedagogy through an Honours Course in Hindi at the UG level. The major Course in Hindi was introduced in the year 2012. The alumni of the department are now well established in various spare of life. Some alumni are associated with Central and State Govt. service and some dealt with other respectable social services and responsibilities. Presently, the department is functioning with four teachers. Among them, two faculties are permanent in nature and rest two are serving as Contractual faculties. The department has focused on the enhancement of students’ skills in the Hindi language, literary theories, and cultural values. The department has its own library with a huge range of books and study materials.
