Science Society

Kokrajhar Govt. College Science Society was established in the year 1969 with the mission to take science education to common people and to create among them awareness about Environment, Health, Hygiene and to promote interest in maintaining a decent life free from health hazard. Kokrajhar Govt. College Science Society is playing a significant role in this regard.

To improve Debating skill and Speaking skill of the students of the College, a Debate Club has been established comprising of students and teachers. Debate club holds debate & symposium competitions periodically by organizing regional, state, national and international competitions. As debate & symposium helps people to show their power of speech on particular topic.

Aims and objectives:
• To identify students who have problem solving and innovative thinking, and helps students to build links between words and ideas that make concepts more meaningful.
• To train students think critically.
• To give platform to the students to show their talents of speech, discussion and their knowledge to express opinions/views on past/current issues.
• To provide a significant training ground for the development of students’ communicative abilities.

Eco club promotes environmental awareness by creating and fostering green awareness among the students. We understand the role of youth in protection of environment; so we encourage them to live eco-friendly life. This club actively involves in sensitization programme and highlighting environmental concerns. We focus on promoting environmental sustainability-related activities.

Science Club is the platform for the students to promote their scientific interest, realize their scientific skills. The club prepares students to participate in various programs to showcase their projects and take part in various science exhibitions. Through this we help students to gain experience, to utilize their talents and skills.

The region has huge sports potential and keeping this in mind, the Sports club dedicates itself to promote these budding talents and to provide a healthy sporting habit among the students by making them participate in various sports activities at college. The club encourages and supports Star athletes to participate in State and national level games. There are students who have participated and won state and national level games in various sports activities. The activities conducted in the college are – Football, Cricket, Volleyball, Throwball, Kabaddi, Badminton and various athletic sports, etc.

Literary club in Kokrajhar Govt. College has been constituted to stimulate literary talents of students and teachers. It organises activities such as Spot Essay Writing, Spot Story writing, Spot Poem writing, Poem Recitation, Extempore Speech, Poster Making, Clay Moulding, Painting and Wall Magazine Competitions.
