The department of Statistics was established in the year 1998. It is an interdisciplinary subject offering course for students of both Science and Arts Streams. In the year 2012, the department had introduced Major Course. The department works together with the department of Mathematics, Statistics under the banner of Mathematical Sciences formed in 2004 to increase the quality strength of students.
Laboratory Facilities
The department of Statistics of the college is assisted by RUSA. The department has one joint laboratory with Department of Mathematics for Degree courses with the facility of the SPSS software.
The department has a well equipped library with almost 350 titles in its possession, which is specially used by the Honours students.
